School Meals

Food, Glorious Food!

Nutritious, homemade meals and snacks are prepared on the premises by our catering department. Vegetarian options are always available and individual dietary needs are catered for wherever possible.

Lunchtimes are staggered, with pupils from the primary phase offered the first sitting from 12noon.

    Lady Royd Menu

Pupils choose from a colour coded menu which is changed every week, on a 3-week rota each term. Parents are asked to help their child to choose their lunch (red, blue or green) before they come to school each day.

During morning registration each child will put on a colour coded wrist band to ensure that they get their selected lunch.

    Transitional protections

For pupils who might otherwise have lost FSM under the amended criteria, transitional protections will be implemented from 1st April 2018 as follows:

Pupils who received FSM immediately prior to 1 April 2018 will continue to receive them while Universal Credit is rolled out – this will apply regardless of whether they meet the criteria during that time.

Pupils who gain eligibility after 1st April 2018 will continue to receive them during the rollout period – this will apply regardless of whether they meet the criteria at a subsequent point during the rollout period.

Once Universal Credit is fully rolled out (expected March 2022), any existing claimants that no longer meet the eligibility criteria will continue to receive FSM until the end of their current phase of education.

To apply for FSM – please complete an application form online at: http://www.bradford.gov.uk/schoolmeals

Or alternatively call into school and we will help you complete the form.
